Dieting is good, dieting and exercising is better

It is a common knowledge that that healthy diet is good for you. If we go one step further, healthy diet is good but combined with exercise it is even better!

I know from experience that our busy lives do not make it easy. Nobody has the time or stamina eat or exercise properly. Simply, there is no time, or at least everybody thinks that. The good news is that you can make time.

I am 36 years old and I was never the sporting type. Four years ago I started Pierre Dukan’s diet, but this time I combined it with trips to the gym. In six months I lost 48,4 lbs by following Dukan’s regime and visiting the gym three times a week. Now is 2012, and I am still 182 lbs, mostly muscle. My life’s quality improved greatly. I sleep better, I feel better, I am almost always in a great mood and my self-esteem is on the level.

All that was possible because I wanted it to happen. I also found my “wellness” truth. I found what foods my body agrees with, and how much exercise I need according to my goals. With time everything become easier, I developped healthy eating habits and my body and health changed gradually – from poor to great.

Here is a list of foods or drinks I try to avoid or limit:

Food list

  • Any type of bread or pastry
  • Mayonnaise
  • Milk cream
  • Most types vegetable oils
  • Pork meat
  • Any sweets (chocolates, candy, etc)

Drinks list

  • Any soda type drinks (Coca Cola, Pepsi, Fanta, etc)
  • Any type of Spirits (Voda, Whiskey, Gin, etc).

For cooking and salads I use cold pressed olive oil. I drink mostly wine or beer. Concerning meat, fish, chicken and beef are my preferences. And two extremely important hints:

  • Eat at least 3-4 times a day
  • Do not eat between 19:00 and 08:00 (if you are hungry, drink a litter of water and go to bed).

    Hello admin,
    Thanks for the dieting hints. You’re right that truth is different for everybody. For me high protein diet and 3l of water a day, improved my wellness a lot.

    I have question – do you drink just water? is there a replacement for water. Honestly, I think I know the proper way, at least for me, but having limited things to eat is difficult. I think I will try Pierre Dukan’s diet.

    Hello Debjit,

    Try making fresh juices for drinking. There very helpful for your general health and they are also a great addition to any dieting program.
